Training in Telford
Telford is the largest town in Shropshire and one of the fastest-growing towns in the United Kingdom. It is named after Shropshire civil engineer Thomas Telford, who designed several roads, canal, and rail constructions. The town was built as a new town in the 1960s and 1970s on previously industrial and agricultural land and communities. Telford, like other planned towns of the time, was formed through the amalgamation of several townships and towns, most notably Wellington, Oakengates, Madeley, and Dawley.
